This is a special tour for families that love to explore and have magical encounters. It is packed with fun, adventure and unique experiences. Can you imagine bathing and caring for the elephants that you will be trekking with through the beautiful forests of the World Heritage Gunung Leseur National Park? As you immerse yourself in the rich culture of the region and get up close to the orang-utans in their native habitats, you are sure to remember this as a family holiday to treasure.

On the four-hour drive from Medan to Tangkahan, you stop for lunch at Batang Serangan village, where you experience the colours and smells of the market and are greeted by the smiling faces of the Karonese people, well-known for chewing betel nut, their regal dancing, and large marriage ceremonies. Soon after arriving in Tangkahan, you become acquainted with the elephants and watch them socialising and bathing in the river. The next three days are spent river-tubing down the Buluh River visiting waterfalls, hot springs, and beaches for swimming and picnicking. Be sure to have your camera ready as you trek on elephant back through scenic jungles!

On day five, you travel to Bukit Lawang, home of the Critically Endangered Sumatran Orang-utan. You are sure to be captivated by these gentle animals as you observe them in their natural habitats. There is so much to experience here, as you immerse yourself in the local culture, explore the surrounding jungle, and go on a fun water-rafting adventure down the Wampu River.

This fun-filled adventure is bound to be a memorable family encounter.
