This private, exclusive tour is limited to eight people only. Highly experienced wildlife guides take you on a remarkable adventure through the jungles of Borneo to observe the endangered orang-utans and other wildlife, such as the Proboscis Monkey, in their natural habitats. This is an educational and deeply moving tour that will stay with you forever.

After arriving in Sandakan, you embark on a two-hour drive to the village of Sukau in the lower Kinabatangan valley, one of the best places in Borneo to spot wildlife. Accompanied by nature guides, you river cruise to the Sabah Wildlife Department and learn about the HUTAN Conservation Project’s work with the endangered elephant population. As you trek through the HUTAN Orangutan Research site, you keep a look out for the endangered ‘Borneo orang-utan’. This research site is open to only 300 guests a year. The experience of coming across a wild orang-utan is incredibly overwhelming.

At the Gomantong Caves, you explore the intricate cave system and its massive population of bats, birds and beetles. And then it’s on to Oxbow Lake, named for its distinctive crescent shape, the perfect spot for bird watching and glimpsing wild orang-utans. At Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, you watch the feeding of the Proboscis Monkeys. A visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre reveals the special work done to rehabilitate orphan orang-utans.

This tour delivers so much more than it promises.
