ElephantOdyssey.pdf
This exhilarating two-week adventure is restricted to six guests only and takes you into the scenic jungles and hidden villages of North Sumatra. The gentle Sumatran elephants will captivate you as you trek with them through World Heritage rainforests, visiting locations that are unique to this tour. Words fail us in describing the emotion you will experience as you observe orang-utans in their natural habitats. There is so much excitement packed into this tour that you just have to experience it to believe it.
Your adventure begins in the bustling streets of Medan, where you visit the colourful markets before journeying to Tangkahan. Very soon, you become acquainted with the elephants as you help bathe and care for them and watch them socialising. Riding on elephant back throughout the tour enables you to experience the rainforest from a whole new perspective. And if that isn’t enough, just imagine the excitement of river-tubing to waterfalls to swim and to enjoy delicious picnic lunches. See yourself immersed in the tranquillity of jungle hideaways as you trek through the beautiful forests and explore caves, hot springs and limestone corridors. The hospitable Karonese people—well-known for chewing betel nut, their regal dancing, and large marriage ceremonies—will charm you as you feast at their sumptuous banquets and learn to cook the Karonese way. Before leaving this extraordinary region, the pleasure and awe you feel as you observe the orang-utans at Bukit Lawang in their natural habitats will stay with you for a very long time.
This breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime adventure is sure to provide a talking point for years and years to come.
