This captivating tour takes you to picturesque Lake Toba, the largest volcanic lake in the world, and to Samosir Island situated in the middle of the lake. As you visit the villages and traditional markets of the respectful, courteous Batak people and gaze out at the breathtaking beauty of the landscape, you are sure to feel a sense of bliss that will stay with you for a long time.
After arriving in Medan, you are driven to Lake Toba and cross by boat to Samosir Island. Here, you visit the uniquely structured Bataknese houses with their distinctive saddle-backed twin-peaked roofs. You also visit the Batak Palace, where the last King reigned until 1949. Over the next two days, you stroll around traditional markets and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of village life. You travel to the small mountain town of Brastagi and learn about the history and culture of the region. On the final day of the tour, you visit the volcanic hot springs and the traditional Lingga Village, and conclude your adventure by dining at Medan’s famous Merdeka Walk.
