Next Departure:
In 1952 the Ugandan Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), popularly known as Entebbe Zoo, was opened as rescue and rehabilitation centre for Ugandan wildlife. In 1994 UWEC began to focus primarily on conservation education. Today, over 175,000 school children visit the Zoo each year. UWEC’s vision is to be the leading centre for Biodiversity Conservation Education in Africa.
You will have the exclusive opportunity to assist Entebbe Zoo with its invaluable work. Spend 5 days beside the shores of Lake Victoria, working alongside the people and the animals that make this zoo so unique. Whether you spend your time working with the rhinos, giraffe or chimpanzees, every piece of assistance that you can offer will support the zoo in its mission. What better way to gain an in depth understanding of Ugandan wildlife and Conservation programs from the very people who work on the frontline.
