Amy is head of Primates at Auckland Zoo and has worked with primates and a wide variety of other species for 17 years. She has travelled extensively, working
with primates in Africa and Asia and has led Raw tours since 2013, making her the most experienced wildlife leader on the team!
Amy is passionate about sharing her love for wildlife and meeting new people, seeing them open their eyes to the wonders of Sumatra for the first time
and feels incredibly privileged to be given this responsibility and be part of the Raw family.
"I have led numerous small group adventures into North Sumatra with some incredibly inspiring guests. I am passionate about the local communities and programs
Raw supports and love to be around the local people of Sumatra.
As well as Amy work with Raw and Auckland Zoo, Amy is the Director of a new community conservation initiative, The Rangers of Tangkahan, which Raw
has adopted as one of its priority community conservation programs.
"My enthusiasm and passion for Sumatra grows with every visit and I have been fortunate enough to have had the privilege of travelling the world in
my roles, feeding my love for travel, local communities and wildlife.
I am incredibly privileged to work alongside the experienced local Raw guides and get such inspiration from the forest edge communities striving to make
positive changes toward protecting the threatened Leuser ecosystem”.
