Orang-utan-friendly soap and shampoo bars

Raw Wildlife Encounters does not support the production of soaps that contain Palm Oil, a common ingredient in many commercial soaps. Palm Oil production is linked to large-scale deforestation, human rights issues, and loss of flora and fauna, including the orang-utan and the elephant.
Alex’s Handcrafted Soaps are made especially for Raw Wildlife Encounters. They contain natural ingredients, such as beeswax, olive, canola, coconut, soy and caster oils, egg yolks, cocoa, spices, coffee, a variety of clays, essential oils, fragrant oils, coconut cream, goats milk, herbs, and oatmeal.
The ingredients are saponified with lye in filtered rainwater. “I use the cold process in order to retain the naturally moisturising glycerine,” says Alex. “I then hand-cut the bars and store them on racks to air them and to complete the curing process for a minimum of four weeks.”
The shampoo bar is an all-round cleanser that can also be used as a shaving cream and body soap—ideal for travelling.
