Amber Partington

Amber Partington is a Primate Keeper working in the Primate Department at Melbourne Zoo and has previous qualifications in animal technology. Having already completed several trips to Borneo, she embarked on her first Raw Wildlife Encounters tour in September 2010, leading the 12-day elephant odyssey tour. “This journey will change your life!”she says.
After adopting an orphan orang-utan many years ago and having witnessed firsthand the deforestation of the jungles of Malaysian Borneo due to the expanding palm oil plantations, Amber has channelled her energies towards creating awareness and funds to help save these animals’ habitats, and in turn, save the habitats of the local people and other endangered species.
Amber’s lifelong fascination with animals and her enthusiasm and dedication to animal welfare earned her the position of Victorian State Representative for the Australian Orangutan Project (AOP) in 2009, which she continues to help raise awareness and funds to help support orang-utan conservation.
